Pegasus Charters is once again providing their wonderful holiday cruises for people who live in Charleston this holiday season. Visitors have the opportunity to enjoy their original “Charleston Sleigh Ride” that has been an annual tradition since 2008 as they leave the Ripley Light Marina on the Charleston Explorer, an 80 passenger catamaran vessel, and cruise along the Ashley River. From there guests will travel through the Intracoastal Waterway all the while listening to stories about Charleston’s Christmas traditions and Christmas music. While the ride cannot be strictly called a Christmas Light Tour since no one can control who puts lights on their houses and who doesn’t, the route does pass by many private homes which increases the chances of seeing a well-decorated Charleston property. The hour-and-a-half long ride has become a popular tradition with families and couples who are looking for a festive outing, and little ones ride free until they are 4 years old. Adult tickets can be bought for $35 to $45, but for children from the ages of 5 to 12 years old they only cost $25 to $35. For those adults who come in a group of ten or more their tickets will receive a $5 discount if the coupon code GROUP is entered when the tickets are purchased at Pegasus Charters. If a group of at least 15 would like to go on a date that isn’t available, they are encouraged to call 843-276-4203 so that an accommodation can be made for them since private charters are available. Though the tickets themselves are non-refundable unless Pegasus Charters has to cancel a tour, they are easily able to be rescheduled for a different date with at least a day’s notice beforehand.
Another festive option is their Rock-N-Roll Christmas Cruise where guests can enjoy the different Charleston property sights from the water as they listen to fun rock-n-roll Christmas Carols. This tour is not narrated and is specifically a time for getting together with friends and family to slow down and enjoy the holiday season. Guests are encouraged to bring along their own snacks and beverages, keeping in mind that glass containers need to remain at home. Everyone is welcome to join in and sing-along with the Christmas Carols as the spirit of the holidays lifts the hearts of the passengers. On the 9th of December the cruise will stay out longer to watch the Charleston parade of boats. Tickets for those 13 years old and up can be purchased on their website for $30 to $40, and for children 5 to 12 years old it will cost $20 to $28. Once again little ones up to the age of 4 years can ride for free, and the group discount can be applied for adults in a group of ten or more. Since tickets are non-refundable it’s wise to make sure that you arrive on time because the boat is unable to wait for those who are late, whether that’s due to traffic or parking issues and those who miss the cruise at the last minute are not able to be rescheduled for a later date.
