This holiday season the Sottile Theatre is hosting the musicians of Chamber Music Charleston for their Classical Kids Concert, “The Night Before Christmas,” at its downtown Charleston real estate location. Guests will be able to enjoy the glorious sounds of the season as they sing along with their favorite holiday songs, and hear the beloved stories of this magical time of year arranged to classical music that makes them come alive! On the 23rd of December, this special concert will feature Timothy O’Malley on the cello, Frances Hsieh on the violin, Regina Helcher Yost on the flute, and Charles Messersmith playing the clarinet. These four musicians will be performing a beautiful variety of holiday music as classic Christmas stories are retold by a group of actors from the Actors’ Theatre of South Carolina. Christmas tales such as “The Night Before Christmas” and the “Snowman at Christmas”, will come to life on the beautiful stage of this historic Charleston real estate owned by the College of Charleston.

All the Classical Kids Concerts last about 45 minutes as they present sing-along songs and stories set to classical music specifically for the enjoyment of children, and “The Night Before Christmas” concert is no exception to this rule. The entire audience can join in the performance as they sing along to holiday songs like “Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer,” “Jingle Bells,” and even “Frosty the Snowman”. There will also be a brand new version of “Let it Go” from the hit movie “Frozen” sung by Charleston native Laura Ball as she brings “Elsa” to life for everyone to hear! There will be two performances that Saturday, one at 11 a.m. and another at 1 p.m., which doubles the opportunity for those who call Charleston home to attend. Tickets for children 3 and under are free, while those who are 4 years old through the age of 16 only cost $6, and adults can get their admission for $12.
